Nutella Rolls.. Mmm :)

I made nutella rolls for brunch today, and I thought I'd share this easy recipe with you guys. :)

     You Will Need
  • 3 tablespoons of warm water
  • 3 tablespoons of sugar
  • 2 1/2 teaspoons of active dry yeast
  • 1/2 cup (1 stick) of butter
  • 1 cup of milk
  • 2 cups of bread flour
  • 1 teaspoon of salt
  • 1 1/3 cup of flour
  • 1 cup of nutella
  • 3-4 teaspoons of cinnamon (optional)
Mix the water and sugar together, and then stir in the yeast. Leave it for 5 minutes to activate. In a separate bowl, melt the butter, and then stir in the milk. In another bowl, mix the flours and salt together. First stir in the yeast mix and then the butter mix. Knead the dough until it becomes somewhat elastic, and then place the formed ball in a lightly oiled bowl. Leave it to rise for about 2 hours (ideally, it should double in size).

Two hours later, roll the dough into a rectangle, and spread the nutella over it (this is the fun part! :D). I sprinkled cinnamon over the nutella, but you don't have to if you're not a big fan of cinnamon. Roll it up, cut into 10-12 rolls, place in a buttered plan, bake at 375 degrees Fahrenheit for 30 minutes, and serve warm.

...and that's it! :)

My brother just couldn't resist haha

Hope you enjoyed this post! Let me know if you have any questions/concerns :D

Leather & Stripes

Hey guys! Last night, I wore this striped dress and maroon wedges to dinner and a movie with some of my siblings and friends. It had just rained outside and was a bit chilly, which is why I have on a leather jacket. I tend to not wear a lot of jewelry, so I just have on stud earrings.

For dinner, we went to a sushi restaurant called Dragon Fly. The atmosphere was upscale and artsy, with the waiters and waitresses wearing masquerade masks. Rather than the traditional menu layout, this restaurant presented us with an Izakaya menu style possessing a very extensive food selection. Every item we ordered came in "appetizer size" and were all so delicious! I would definitely recommend this restaurant if you're ever visiting Orlando, especially the signature dragon-fly roll. It had tuna and albacore wrapped
with grouper and baked with a spicy sauce. It was also topped with scallions and eel sauce - very tasty! We also had the Spider, Fire Me Wasabi, Karage Chicken and California rolls. The Karage Chicken was my second favorite, it had fried marinated chicken thigh, cream cheese, avocado, cucumber and scallions.
Anyways, enough of the sushi talk, I could go on forever haha, but I would highly recommend this restaurant.

Oh and my siblings surprised me with a birthday dessert (even though my birthday was two days before lol), they are the best! It consisted of fried cheesecake, vanilla ice-cream, ,strawberries and blueberries. I was so full by the end of the night.

My sister and I taking forever to make up our minds, the usual lol.

The Wool, the Pin and I

                                                           The famous ice-cream hat

                                                                Midnight Rose

                                                                      Orange Bliss

Crocheting/knitting has always been one of my favorite past times. Although as of recent I haven't had the time to crochet because school just gets incredibly busy. I found out about this club on campus the other day that crochets for two hours every Monday, and they looked so adorable all crocheting by the fireplace. I am considering joining the club, to help improve my crocheting skills and learn new projects! I guess time will tell.

I crocheted these hats a while back, it took me about a week to get done with all of them (yes I'm a bit of an old lady sometimes haha). My sister and I had a lot of fun modelling the hats, even though it was freezzinggg outside.

Accordion Potatoes and Grilled Chicken

Hey guys! Today I had accordion potatoes and grilled chicken for dinner, yum! I had been craving potatoes for the longest time, and seeing that I'm trying to eat healthier and do away with fries and such, I decided to bake them instead. It's a very easy recipe and quite filling too. My mom grilled the chicken, and it was so delicious! Unfortunately, this recipe is a top secret haha however, keep reading for the accordion potatoes recipe! :)

   You Will Need

  • 6 Irish potatoes
  • 1/2 (1 stick) of butter
  • 1 tablespoon of oil
  • 2 tablespoons of garlic
  • Ground ginger (to taste)
  • Maggi (2 cubes - optional) - I added maggi because I love spicy food!
  • Salt (to taste - a pinch should be just fine if you use maggi)
  • Cayenne pepper (to taste)
  • Parsley
  • Green/spring onions
  • Lemons
Start by washing your potatoes and leaving them to dry. Slice them accordion style, and be careful not to cut the potatoes all the way. Place the potatoes aside in a baking pan. In a microwavable bowl, mix your butter, oil, garlic, ground ginger, maggi, salt, cayenne pepper and parsley all together. Microwave this mix till your butter is completely melted.

Using a cooking brush, coat each slice of potatoes with the butter mix. Bake at 375 degrees for 40 minutes (the goal is to have the top of the potatoes crispy and well done on the inside). If you have any butter left, brush it over the potatoes. When that is done, sprinkle chopped green onions over the baked potatoes and you're good to go! (I love the way it tastes with lemon, so I squeezed a little bit over my potatoes).

Christmas Sugar Biscuits - First Attempt :D

I am really looking forward to Christmas tomorrow, and in honor of Christmas eve, I decided to surprise          my family this morning with freshly baked homemade Christmas sugar biscuits! It was my first time doing this, and it came out a little bit harder than I had anticipated but is yummy nonetheless. Keep reading for the recipe.

   You Will Need

   2 cups of flour
   1/2 teaspoon of baking powder
   1/4 tsp of salt
   1 stick of butter
   2 eggs
1 cup of sugar (alternatively 1/2 cup of brown sugar and 1/2 cup of white sugar)
   1 tsp of vanilla extract
   M & Ms
   Sparkle Gel (to decorate)
   Sugar sprinkles (to decorate)

   1 rolling pin
   2 mixing bowls
An electronic mixer (if you don't have one, a wooden spoon will suffice).
   Cookie cutters
   1 large non-stick cookie pan

Start by mixing the flour, baking powder and salt together. When that is done, in a separate bowl mix the sugar and butter, and then gradually stir in the eggs. When the second mix is perfectly done, gradually add the flour mix in, and using your electronic mixer (or wooden spoon), whisk it as you proceed.
Using your hands, make a round dough, wipe your counter surface clean (make sure it is very clean :) ), rub enough flour around the surface and on your rolling pin, and then knead the dough. When that is done, cut out your biscuits using your cookie cutters.

Now you're getting closer to baking it but before you do, place the m&m's in the cut out biscuits. Put the biscuits on the pan and bake at 325 degrees Fahrenheit for 12 - 15 minutes.

  To Decorate

Using the the sparkle gel, as shown in the picture above, decorate the baked biscuits however you want to. (Don't worry, they're edible lol)

If you want to use sprinkles to decorate, whisk an egg, use a  baking brush to put a light layer over the biscuit, and pour the sprinkles on the biscuit. In this case, the egg serves as a "glue".

 And you're done!

Let me know if you have any questions or suggestions, I love learning new recipes!

Primary School Girl

Hey guys! Today I decided to dress up as a "primary school girl" to church. It was a lot of fun putting this outfit together, and I decided to pair it with black heels to make the look a little bit more edgy. I'm only now beginning to wear heels, that is why these are not very high haha.

I love peter-pan collared shirts/dresses, and immediately fell in love with this top when I saw it. I love the color and style of the dress as well, I sometimes wear it by itself to casual dinners with friends!

African Fusion

Today I decided to wear this African print dress with high-wasited denim jeans.

I love the way they complement each other! It's very chic and colorful.

Hello, Orlando!

Hey guys! I'm currently in Orlando for the Winter break, and I love love the weather here! It's always             great being in Orlando, because there is so much to do here. From beautiful skies, beautiful weather, and    restaurants, to tourist attractions like Disney World, Universal Studios, and Sea World, there's never a boring moment here. Plus I get to spend time with family, which is always great!

Today was little bit chilly, so I decided to layer up. Decided to keep it simple however, all black and a red plaid light jacket. I'm a huge fan of plaid (of course plaid can be very diverse so this will depend on the particular pattern).

We moved into a new house and it was my first time seeing it. I absolutely love it! My family surprised me with a Christmas tree (it had been a while since we had one set up for Christmas) and other pretty ornaments. It feels like I am living in a gift house! The decoration is very detailed, and this place feels just like home. :)
