Wrapped in Blue

Happy hump day nerdly beautifuls! Lately I've been wearing mostly whites, blacks, and greys, and although I love dressing minimally, I noticed that it wasn't my closet lacking color, it was more so me not being daring enough on most days to wear colorful items. In an attempt to breakout of that mindset, I paired an old denim blouse with a stripped full midi skirt. I'm particularly proud of how this outfit came together, here's to taking more risks with my wardrobe :D

That Pink Smoothie (Strawberries & Beet)

Hello my nerdly beautifuls!

Lately, I've been struggling to eat healthier and have been paying more attention to how what I eat affects my body which has consequently made me make a few changes to my diet, starting with having smoothies for breakfast, eating less carbs, more veggies and more proteins! See I've known this formula for a while now, sticking to it is the difficult part for me. But you know what they say - Never stop starting because one day you'll wake up and find out that you've finished. So for the umpteenth time, here goes...

I'm also hoping that sharing some of my favorite recipes with you guys will help keep me accountable, and in the spirit of Valentine's Day, I'm starting this series off with a delicious and filling pink smoothie! :D

Level/Type: Easy/Breakfast/Smoothie
Yield: 4 cups
Prep: 10 mins
Blend Time: 5 mins
Total: 15 mins

INGREDIENTS

1 cup strawberries
1 avocado
1 lemon (squeezed)
1/2 cucumber (or 6 slices)
3 slices of beet (a small beet - some people steam the beet first, but I didn't because my blender could handle it :) )
1 apple
4 large ice cubes
1 cup water

PROCEDURE: Add all the ingredients into the blender, and blend on high until the mix is smooth. If you want it sweeter, feel free to add another apple or a liquid sweetener.

And, that's it! Please let me know if you have any questions OR more suggestions on smoothies I could try out! I'm all ears (or eyes, I should say ;) ).

The Chunky Jumper Dress

Hello my nerdly beautifuls! Last week, I was in a relatively "lazy" mood in regards to dressing up. Not in a negative way (you gotta keep the mood swings stylish!), but I loved being able to throw things on and be on the go and this jumper dress from H&M helped me do just that! It is literally the perfect length, very comfortable and warm - kept me cozy all day!

Thank you so much for reading! Hope you're having a lovely week thus far. Xx

Throwback Thursday - A Beautiful Wedding Ft My Beautiful Sisters!

Hello my nerdly beautifuls!

Continuing on with my pretty dresses obsession phase/post playing around dresses on Weddington Way, I couldn't help but throwback to last summer in Puerto Rico! I was there for a friend's absolutely beautiful wedding! I didn't actually wear white to the wedding, (I wouldn't dare, haha) wore this dress to the all white beach party the night before.

I cherish moments my sisters and I get to dress up, take pictures, crack up at inside jokes and party all night (we literally did dance all night!).  Looking forward to our next reunion!
How adorable are they!!?? <3

Weddington Way - Dream Red Carpet Look-book

Hello my nerdly beautifuls! Hope your week has been great so far!

Recently I've been obsessing over beautiful dresses from the Couture Fashion Week, and so when Weddington Way reached out to me to write a post about styling their dresses for the perfect red carpet look, I couldn't wait to get started! I have to say they have the loveliest bridesmaids dresses. After helping my sister choose her bridesmaids dresses, I've really come to appreciate good  bridal collections, and an easy online shopping experience. The great thing about Weddington Way is that you can register yourself and your bridal party as soon as you sign up with them, and afterwards they have a personal stylist contact your party, providing guidance with the process of selecting the perfect dress, for free!!!

So, for my first look (above), I decided to go with rose gold and champagne colors. You've probably noticed by now that I love this color palette! Kept it simple with a long elegant champagne colored dupioni dress. I love the bateau neckline, and the mod style it embodies. I opted for rose gold accessories, to keep the look subtle, but added a little edge with red lipstick and red sparkly nail polish by Nars

My second look is a little on the bold side, but I honestly don't think you could go too far off in a red dress. The color carries the look, which makes accessorizing so much easier! The v-neck is just low enough to complement the fullness and inverted pleat of the dress, which both remind me of old Hollywood glamour! I had so much fun picking out accessories to complement this dress, especially when playing with Polyvore makes me feel like I'm shopping without actually spending money - win! I also love the subtle-glam the silver brings to this outfit.

So, what do you think of the assembles? Which do you prefer? Leave a comment below letting me know, I honestly can't decide! :)

Georges Hobeika - The Beauty of Lightness, of Nature, and Savoir Faire

C O U T U R E

Hello my nerdly beautifuls! Here are some of my favorite looks from the Paris Couture Week, and this is particularly a light and transparency inspired collection by Lebanese haute couture and ready-to-wear fashion designer, Georges Hobeika. He presented this as his Spring and Summer 2015 look-book, and honestly, I've been in Fabric Heaven ever since! There's something about this collection that is very dreamy, transcending age and trends.

R E A D Y     T O     W E A R

What I adore about these pieces, is his ode to the experience of light against sequins, pearls, crystals, silk chiffon, colors, embroidery and the contrast between these experiences. I love the colors, cohesion, structured dresses with cut out details, and above all, the combination/balance of strength, play and elegance.

Hope you enjoyed reading as much I enjoyed putting this together!
