Jeweled Patterns

Salut mes beautes intelligentes (hello my nerdly beautifuls, I had some questions about what that meant haha)! Hope your year has been off to a great start! I picked up this jeweled printed dress the other day from H & M, and it really was love at first sight (PS it was on sale for $10, WIN!).The variety of some of my favorite colors on this dress makes it easier for me to work with it, expect more posts with cette belle in the near future! :)

For this look, I went with a more feminine approach. Heels and a light cardigan for lunch with family.

All photos taken by my lovely sister, Shalom :)

Thank you so much for reading!

Flashback Friday - How to Style a Baby-doll Dress

Salut mes beautes intelligentes!

These are from the time I spent a weekend in Philly over the summer, and for some reason, I just never got around posting them up. Anyways, my apologies for them coming late! I know it's already Fall, however, for those nerdly beautifuls in warmer regions and in honour of #FlashBackFridays, here's some inspiration on how to style babydoll dresses :)

I kept it quite simple in anticipation of a long day exploring with my sis. Leave a comment below letting me know what you think! :)

Purple Triangles

The other day I was in the mood to wear something different from the colors I usually go for. I rarely wear purple, but there was something about this kaftan that made me steal it from my mother (sorry, mom).  It reminded me of the style that rocked women's fashion in Nigeria during the 80s. I wasn't born, but I've seen pictures, particularly those of my mom. I've always been a fan of kaftans, like these that have a bit of an Arab influence to them. They're so comfortable, and easy to wear!

I paired it with a matching head-tie, and opted for black accessories to keep the focus on the vibrant colors.
