It's Print | It's Lace

Patterned Blazer - Forever 21 / Buttoned-up Lace Shirt - Zara / Black Joggers - New Look / Oxfords - Aldo / Bag - Forever 21

Just put the kettle on, about to make some peppermint tea - how good it feels to be back! As much as I enjoy traveling, meeting new people, reconnecting with old friends, and engaging in new ventures, nothing replaces staying on track with daily routines, carving out time to recuperate and being back home - which is what Seattle is finally starting to feel like. (:

This outfit was in accordance with being more daring with my outfit selections. The buttoned-up shirt I have on is made out of the most gentle lace! I love the femininity it lends to the patterned blazer, and how well they complement each other.

Also, I can't believe it is already March, where did February go!? I'm yet to set out detailed goals for the month but basically top of mind is to be more present, positive and grateful. I have so much to be thankful for - we all do really when we put our problems aside and avoid comparing ourselves to others. What are some of your goals for the new month?

Minimal - A Day in the City (New Urban Outfitters)!

Inspired by these streets - "If you can dream it, you can be it."

Salut mes beautés intelligentes! Hope everyone's summer has been great so far. I'm presently in New York City, and have been a little busy adjusting to this new place. There's so much to do, and I don't think I have ever been surrounded by this many people. Initially I felt quite overwhelmed (honestly, I still do haha) but I think the madness is starting to grow on me. If you have any recommendations on what to do in the city, please do tell! :D

The other day I decided to go exploring before class, and took a few pictures as I did. I was feeling a little under the weather and thus went for very comfortable pieces - ones that made me feel like I was in PJs, lol. Although, I've noticed that I am bit of a minimalist when it comes to design, art and of course, style.

The best Strawberry Banana smoothie I've ever had. Anddd it had just strawberries, bananas and ice, which is hard to come by these days. Unless it's homemade of course :)

I stopped by a local garment store and immediately felt at home. It reminded me of the days I dreaded following my mom to the market as a teenager. The only stores I enjoyed visiting, however, were the garment stores and their laces looked just like these. I remember referring to materials that resembled the brown and gold bundle in the picture below as "Senegalese Lace",  I wonder if they're  globally called that.

Then.. I walked into the new Urban Outfitters and took a few pictures of some items I loved! I was unusually ecstatic to be in the store. Have you ever walked into a store and felt like it just understood you and catered to your EVERY need? Sigh. That's how I felt, lol.

I loved that this had a bit of an Ethiopian influence to it. Actually, I think it IS Ethiopian! (Urban Outfitters)

 Urban Outfitters.
Their new store is amazing. It has a cafe, reading area, salon, makeup center etc.. I could have literally spent my entire day there lol.

The Forest Feast - Thought it had a brilliant design for a vegan recipe book. No, still not going vegan just yet. :)

And then my camera battery ran down..

Errands Days - Peach & Denim

                                                           Salut mes beautés intelligents!

Don't you just love when you find random gems in the oddest of places? I found this light sweater at a local boutique a few months ago, and had to get it! I am still figuring out what the name of its color is, burnt peach maybe?

I paired it with denim shorts and a fall jacket, in preparation for a long day ahead.

That Sunny Spring Day!

"Buttercups and daises, Oh the pretty flowers; Coming ere the Springtime, To tell of sunny hours"

Salut mes beautés intelligents! It seems like Spring is finally here, and I've been enjoying every minute of it! I picked up this dress from Forever 21 a while back, and have been waiting for the perfect opportunity to wear it. I'm a huge fan of floral patterns, especially floral jacquards - there is something vintage, organic and  modest about them. Jacquard fabrics, in general, remind me of  my childhood, and the old fashioned furniture we owned at the time. Talking about spring, I'm looking forward to playing with pastels, cropped tops maybe, and translucent sheers! What are some your favorite spring trends? :)
